Xi Ling Gorge was one of the three famed gorges on the Yangtze River (As an aside about the name Yangtze: Chinese people has called the Yangtze River the Long River since time immemorial. The origin of the name Yangtze is sort of a mystery. Supposedly a section of the river in the Shanghai area was named Yangtze and Westerners who only knew that part of China had named the whole of the river after that section, with that name sticking in the Western psyche ever since...).
