The terracotta warriors were really quite a sight! As the story goes, a couple of peasants farming in the area struck some rocky surface one day - they informed the authorities - their find turned out to rank among the most important 20th century archeological discoveries - and the rest was history. The main exhibits actually house the original dig. Some parts of the dig contained still unassembled figures. Some of the opened sites still contain ongoing excavations and research. There are still many surroudning mysteries - and the it is possible that many more treasures will be found in the area in the future....
