8/10/2003, McGarth Beach State Park to Malibu Beach RV Park, 39.49 miles

I don't have much time to write because tomorrow is the big LA ride, and it is already getting dark. The ride to Malibu was surprisingly serene and beautiful, especially the section after Oxnard along Highway 1. I got here, after grocery shopping, before 10:30 a.m. and relaxed the rest of the day away on a table bench under a tree on a high cliff overlooking the Pacific. I enjoyed doing some reading and taking numerous stretching and napping breaks throughout the day.

The campsite here is clean and nice. My neighbor is a family from Holland on a five-week tour of the United States (father, son, and uncle on an RV - camping every night; they are staying here in Malibu for three days). Mom and GrandMom visited a little after 6 p.m. with lots of TASTY food. We enjoyed a relaxing meal (on that bench overlooking the Pacific) and a beautiful sunset!

Ok - got to run now. Good night.
