7/12/2003 8:05pm, Bay View State Park to Old Fort Townsend State Park, 52.35 miles

I am tired. Today was a good day, but I haven't been eating well. It's not that I have not been able to get food, it's just bad choices at grocery shopping and food selection while eating out. I'll try to eat better tomorrow.

Today's ride was very scenic - along rugged coasts. But going up and down all day long sometimes get old though [I'd learn the next day that my tires had been under inflated and that my seat had slipped too low, which made today's rider harder than it should have been]. The headwind blew again - though only in the afternoon for the last 5 or so miles.

I made several side trips today, including Coupeville (visited the Farmer's market and its historic waterfront) and Port Townsend (rode through its historic downtown district and rows of Victorian houses). I don't know exactly why, but I am a little concerned about Mt. Walker tomorrow and the long ride to Westport the day after.
